GOD’S LOVE IS UNSHAKABLE

Good morning

Due to the storms this weekend, I didn’t sleep well last night either. While I’m processing my projects for work, I wanted to share what I learned during my Quiet Time earlier today. Here is the Verse of the Day:

For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says the Lord who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10 NASB

If you guys have the Bible app, you notice they have these Storytime moments. Today’s storytime talked about God’s love being unshakeable. After reading this scripture and following the storytime, things started popping up in my mind. Here’s what I’ve been struggling with for a while on my spiritual journey:

  • I find myself going to food, toxic relationships, and material things during times of stress, anxiety, depression, and times of pure happiness and joy instead of turning to God for help
  • Feelings of frustration, being overwhelmed, and more stress causes me to either run away from my problems or wait until things get out of hand to deal with them
  • When I do pray, read the Word, and talk to God, I feel like I let Him down when I turn around and fall back into old habits
  • In the end, I beat myself up constantly for not doing what is right, and at times, forget that God loves me, through all my flaws, and that He wants me to run to Him and obey Him through everything that happens in my life

Overall, I’m learning that if I don’t have peace and try to find peace in God, there will be constant unrest in all aspects of my life. Today’s lesson for me: find peace in God, and He will give it to you if you surrender to Him. His love for you will never change. That’s how awesome God is.

Just some food for thought for you all. I hope you enjoy reading this post. I will be back with Day 6 of “Road to 200.” Have a great morning.

Until next time…

MONTHLY REFLECTIONS: AUG. 2020

Good evening

Hope everyone is enjoying this Sunday. Just wanted to share today’s Verse of the Day as well as what my goals are for the new month.

So what will August have in store for me?

PHYSICAL HEALTH 💪🏾- Dad and I are starting our week off right, and taking time during the week to workout together. Mom said she’ll still come over so we can all workout together. Still researching to see what’s the ideal weight for me after I reach 200 pounds. Project Road to 200 starts now.

MENTAL HEALTH 🧘🏾‍♀️- I’m improving on taking time to listen to my body. But August, I want to work on checking my emotions. Through journaling and writing, I think I’ll be able to have a better understanding of why certain triggers occur or why do I find myself stuck in a never-ending cycle. It’s time for me to really start the healing process.

BLOGGING 💻- I’m proud of myself for sticking with my blogging. Currently planning and creating content, all while taking in special notes from my current class. I’m acing this class at the end of this week. “The Gabby Diaries” is still going strong, let’s keep it up!

FINANCIAL 💰- NO SPENDING CHALLENGE has started. Only buy what I need, not what I want. Ultimate goal is to create an emergency fund for a rainy day, or a tropical storm. Plus, it’s better to learn how to live on less and save more right?

CREATIVE PROJECTS 🎨- Blogging was the start of it, but 2020 is still a year of learning and improving on my crafts. I love art and I love learning new things. So August, I’ve got some projects I want to share with you. More to come on “The Gabby Diaries.”

Well, that’s what August looks like for me. So let me take some time to take care of myself and prepare for all the wonderful things I have in store.

Until next time …

GAURDING YOUR HEART

Good morning

So today, I just wanted to share what I learned in my moment of Quiet Time. The topic talked about “Gaurding Your Heart” and the verse of the day was Proverbs 4: 23:

“Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. -Proverbs 4:23 NASB
https://bible.com/bible/100/pro.4.23.NASB

The pastor directing the sermon for the morning, asking the question “What are we consuming?” Thinking about it, most times, I’m consuming things that make me feel good and that’s ok. But, I’m learning that I need to consume more of God. I watch a lot of YouTube and social media and Netflix, but I don’t consume enough of God’s Word, time with Him, and time in prayer.

Starting today, I made a reminder for myself to consume in the Word, and in good things. 2020 is still a year of learning for me. And I’m learning so much about myself everyday. I’m not perfect, I have flaws, and that’s what makes me special. 🥰

Ok, it’s time for me to go. I’ll leave with you this scripture as well as Phil. 4:8 and Matt. 6:33 for you to indulge in:

“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”
‭‭-Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
‭‭-Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭NASB‬‬

MENTAL HEALTH & QUIET TIMES

Good morning

For the past few nights, I’ve been getting back into my reading. The first night was amazing because it was like God was guiding my hand where to start reading in the Bible. This was Monday night.

Tuesday night was a little bit of a struggle because I was easily distracted. But even last night, He showed me what I needed to read. I wanted to post this on Monday, but fell asleep, and then when I went to post it yesterday, I didn’t know what to say. But here I am. Here are the scriptures I read if you all want to do some reading on your own:

05|25|20:

  • 2 Chron. 34: 29-31
  • Matt. 14: 21-23
  • Psalm 119: 97-105
  • 1 Peter 5: 7-8
  • James 5: 16

05|26|20:

  • Phil. 2: 13
  • Prov. 13: 3
  • Prov. 15: 28
  • Prov. 25: 18
  • 1 Cor. 13: 4
  • Psalm 101: 3
  • 2 Tim. 3: 12-15
  • Deut. 2: 7
  • Luke 11: 1
  • Psalm 143
  • Deut. 30: 15-20
  • Matt. 25: 14-30
  • Luke 12: 48
  • Prov. 23: 18
  • Phil. 4: 6-7

Another thing I started doing is intermittent fasting. I started at 8PM on Monday night and finished at 12PM the next day on Tuesday. I drank tea and water for most of the day, but it felt good that I wasn’t in a rush to make a meal or eat. I took my time eating and I was satisfied. So, I did it again last night, starting at 8PM, and just counting down until noon today.

Since I’ve been working from home, I imagine myself, spending my mornings in my War Room (still need to get on that), drinking my fresh cup of coffee or tea, and just spending my entire morning, having quiet time with God, until I’m ready to start working. The more I imagine it, the more I feel it will become a reality.

I’m still practicing my other passions too like writing and sketching. If I keep this up, I’ll be closer to becoming a freelancer in no time.

Well, time to get the day going. Happy Wednesday or “Windsday” in my Winnie the Pooh voice 😂😂😂

Talk later….

GODLY MEDITATION

Good afternoon

Well we’re now into Sunday, and I just finished listening to InTouch Ministries. Today’s sermon talked about the power of Godly Meditation. It’s a series so be sure to go to the website or app, and check out the sermon. It’s the perfect way to start the day.

While I’ve been working from home, I take time out of my day to read the Bible app, and read the verse of the day. But as Dr. Charles Stanley was preaching, it made me think, am I really taking time out of my day to meditate like I should? After looking through my notes, the answer was clear to me. Meditation is something that I need to work on.

I think for most us, meditation is something that we want to improve on, especially during these hard times. We need meditation to help us calm down from our anxieties, and keep our minds, bodies, and souls at peace. If we don’t practice meditation, those things are only going to effect us negatively in the future. I should know because of my health right now, and I’m working on it.

So, I wanted to share my notes with you guys if that’s ok, in case anyone needs help getting back into their reading, or if someone needs a boost of inspiration and motivation for the day or the week. Start with the first screenshot on the top-left and take a look:

If someone needs to read this post, just pass it along to your family and friends.

Well, that’s all for the moment, I have schoolwork to finish up, and a paper to finish writing.

Until next time…

❤️

Good evening 🌙

We are now in February. So let me just give you an update on how January went for me:

January 01- 07: New Year’s and My Birthday Week. Unfortunately, I got sick with my seasonal allergies for that entire week, so I spent it on the couch. 😷🤧🤒😴

January 08- 14: Came back from birthday vacation, and prepared myself for online classes, a new workout routine, and getting my health back together for 2020 🍎🍏🍓🥑🥒🥕

January 09-31: Been getting into the groove of maintaining a schedule that works for me while I’m working and taking classes online. And ended the month with a Girls Night to Krab Kingz, Hot Box Cookies, and Insomnia Cookies 🍪

So…what has January taught me? In 3 words…

✨Rest

✨Reset

✨Recharge

I’m going to take those 3 words and apply them to my schedule more while I’m in school. Right now, school is going great. I’ll have another update for you guys once this class is over, 3 weeks down, 2 to go. Just wanted to let you all know that I’m ok. But now, let me get some sleep.

Until next time….

01.07.20

Good evening 🌙

I’m back and ready to learn, recharge, and gyst 😊

I am glad to announce that I am 💯 from this past week. After spending days in my living room, on the couch, drinking tea, orange juice, and taking multiple medicine and vitamins, I was able to get back on the grind and back to work.

I still giggle when I look back at the week before. Here I was, prepared to have an epic birthday week, doing things I’ve always planned on doing, making big moves, getting off to a fresh start in the new year. Then, it hit me full force, I think I went through at least 2 full boxes of Kleenex, and 7 portable packets of tissues that were originally meant to last me in case of a slight emergency. 🤧😷🤒

To play things safe, I’m still eating Ramen noodles for lunch, and drinking mostly hot water with lemon juice, and a variety of teas: Detox, Green, and Passion. More exciting news, I am now a full time student, going after her BA of Arts & Science in Communication Studies. Classes start next week on Tuesday, and even better, everything is online. That was one of the things that worried me, how my work schedule would affect me going to school. But thanks the wonderful world of technology, it can be done.

So birthday gift for myself? An abundance of office supplies to keep motivated and upbeat. Colorful notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters. Like I’m a little kid again, staying in the office supplies aisle in the store. You could shopping for hours and I wouldn’t move from that spot. I’m so excited and anxious at the same time, but more excited than anything. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍. Let’s see, 2020 is off to a pretty good start so far…

Sorry for rambling. Time for me to settle in for the night. Pleasant dreams 😴😴😴😴

Until next time…
