MENTAL HEALTH & FRIENDS

Good morning

This weekend, I’ve spent most of my time talking to my friends, checking up on them, as well as checking in to let them know that I’m ok. Out of my group of friends, only three of them understand that I have a busy schedule due to work and school. And I understand they have busy schedules as well.

However, the last friend, feels that I have been avoiding him because I haven’t been calling him as much. If I can’t call him, I do try to text him. Now, he’s made the decision that texting doesn’t work for him anymore.

I guess he was trying to make me feel upset because he was making more of an effort to call me and I wasn’t due to my schedule. It took my friend, Jared to remind me to not let the little things stress me out:

“If he doesn’t understand that you are doing all of this to better yourself, achieve your goals, and turn those goals into a vision of helping others, than he doesn’t get it. Don’t let his negative energy drain you. I’m so proud of you, keep doing your best to pursue your dreams.”

In the past, people that I would call my friends would either take advantage of me or would always think negative about ideas that I had, to the point I would be scared to take the risk. Now, I have a close-knit circle of friends that not only inspire me, but I also inspire and encourage them to pursue their dreams and become better versions of themselves.

I write all of this to say, people will reveal to you if they’re your true friends or not. If so, hang onto them and help each other grow and win together. If not, get out of that toxic relationship before it starts to consume you, physically and mentally.

Well, back to creating and brainstorming. I’ll shall return.

A RELAXING DAY OFF

Good evening

It is much later since the last time I blogged. I spent part of the day, reviewing what needs to do be done for Week 05. Then went over Mom’s to help her move around furniture and pick up my laundry (can’t wait until I can get a new washer and dryer).

Came back and did a few changes to the blog as well as change the theme on my tumblr page. Then I was journaling…until I fell asleep on the couch 😂😂😂. I didn’t realize it until my phone fell on the floor. Then for the remainder of the evening, Dad and I have been watching movies on Netflix and talking about sneakers.

Overall, today was a much needed day of rest and relaxing for both of us (he’s sleep on the couch as we speak 😂😂😂).

Well, I’m going to enjoy the rest of my evening and then call it a night.

WEEK 01: BALANCE

Good evening 🌙

So here is what I have been up to this week:

  • Sunday- Spent majority of the day working on my paper for class and spent the day with Mom and Dad just hanging out.
  • Monday- Went to work and prepared for the following school week and finished up a previous project before starting a new one.
  • Tuesday- Had my Therapy session and came home to indulge in “The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez” on Netflix. A must watch and a story so gripping that I procrastinated on original plans to work on my Week 3 paper and read chapters in my textbook
  • Wednesday- Another day of Happy Procrastination due to hanging out with family and playing with my adorable baby cousin, Bryson.
  • Thursday- Went to work and spent most of the day responding to classmates in our discussion forums and cane home to have a 2-hour writing session for my paper.
  • Friday- Went to Denny’s after work with Mom and then came home to indulge in 90’s Saturday Morning nostalgia of “The Mighty Ducks”.
  • Today- Spent the day taking notes while watching Matt D’Avellia on YouTube and finished up the outline of my paper and planned out the week in my Passion Planner.

The one thing I took away from this past week was my lesson in therapy. I’m still trying to find a balance in my work and home life. But when new things get introduced into your work and home life, its harder to find a balance and create a routine. And she then said the words that made me feel better:

“Its ok, you’re going to have moments like these where you are not on your game. Just remember to practice making a routine and figure out what works for you. And if something doesn’t work, change it.”

I’ve been doing it again where I’m doing nothing but running on fuel and I’m not taking time to think situations through or I’m not taking certain things seriously like I should. On Sunday, I’m going to start fresh with a new routine and see what works for me for a week. If something works, I’ll keep it. If something does not work, I’ll try another option or a few more options until I find the thing that works.

Well my loves, I hope you all are having a peaceful evening so far on this lovely Saturday. I will check in with you guys another day.

So, classes have OFFICIALLY started as of yesterday.

The good news, I knocked out one of my assignments last week before class even started. The bad news, still slowly figuring out a study plan to make things go smoothly. But so far, things haven’t been too bad for me.

But, I took time during my lunch break today to review the rest of Week 1, as well as come up with a easy study schedule for me during the week. Now, I just need to be able to climb into bed, and sleep for 8 straight hours without waking up so much. Life of a college student, right? I’m still learning. I’ll get it down before Week 2 starts though.

Just wanted to give you guys a quick update to how classes went. And also say, I’M A COLLEGE STUDENT…AGAIN!!!!!! YAY!!!!! 😍😍😍

Now…time for my eyelids to close and not open for 8 hours. 😴

Good evening 🌙

I’m back and ready to learn, recharge, and gyst 😊

I am glad to announce that I am 💯 from this past week. After spending days in my living room, on the couch, drinking tea, orange juice, and taking multiple medicine and vitamins, I was able to get back on the grind and back to work.

I still giggle when I look back at the week before. Here I was, prepared to have an epic birthday week, doing things I’ve always planned on doing, making big moves, getting off to a fresh start in the new year. Then, it hit me full force, I think I went through at least 2 full boxes of Kleenex, and 7 portable packets of tissues that were originally meant to last me in case of a slight emergency. 🤧😷🤒

To play things safe, I’m still eating Ramen noodles for lunch, and drinking mostly hot water with lemon juice, and a variety of teas: Detox, Green, and Passion. More exciting news, I am now a full time student, going after her BA of Arts & Science in Communication Studies. Classes start next week on Tuesday, and even better, everything is online. That was one of the things that worried me, how my work schedule would affect me going to school. But thanks the wonderful world of technology, it can be done.

So birthday gift for myself? An abundance of office supplies to keep motivated and upbeat. Colorful notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters. Like I’m a little kid again, staying in the office supplies aisle in the store. You could shopping for hours and I wouldn’t move from that spot. I’m so excited and anxious at the same time, but more excited than anything. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍. Let’s see, 2020 is off to a pretty good start so far…

Sorry for rambling. Time for me to settle in for the night. Pleasant dreams 😴😴😴😴

Good evening 🌙

Just finished getting a visit from my best friend as a belated birthday gift. She stayed and we talked what felt like hours, but was really a few minutes. It was just the thing I needed to end a Friday night, and recovering from being sick. So I’m currently at 95% better from this head cold I caught earlier this week. Still taking time to rest my body before I prepare to go back to work.

Still a bit tired and groggy, but that’s what happens when you’ve been pumping your body with medicine and vitamins for past couple of days right? 😂😂😂

Oh well, let me drift off to Dreamland…
