How are you? Are you doing ok?
Enjoying this beautiful Thursday morning?
It is Thursday, and I’m back with another post for “30 Days of Gratitude.” Today, I’m thankful for God. Honestly, I’m thankful for Him every day, even though I don’t say it. So earlier, before I started writing, I had my Quiet Time. I watched a sermon from Faith Church that talked about the five key things to living a stronger life. As the pastor spoke for each part, it really made me sit and think about my own life. This year alone, I keep asking myself :
“Am I living my life right?” or “Am I living my life for God?”
As I took my notes (the Pastor stressed this before the sermon started), I listened to him speak. It touched home for me because he sounded like a Grandpa, and I say that because both my Grandfathers are God-fearing men. David McRae (R.I.P Papa Dude), was truly a man of God that always taught us the facts of life and how we needed to live God-like. Grandpa Beverly is a man of God that always taught us the Bible is your “Instruction Manual for Life, if you don’t read it, study it, and apply it to your life, how are you going to survive in this world?”
Even though I don’t say it, I’m truly thankful for God. He wakes me up every morning so that I can live another day, to get things right. He gives me rest so that I can reflect on the day, and if I made an impact on the people around me, or if I reached out to the people that need someone to talk to or listen to. He provided me with food, water, clothes, and shelter even though I have moments I complain (trying to do that less). He’s given me a family that loves me and cares about me, even when I feel like no one understands me. But the ultimate takeaway for me from the sermon was your provision is connected to how you use the fundamental truths in your life. Here are the five key things to maintain a strong Christian life:
• Daily Prayer
• Meditating on His Word Daily
• Walking in Love
• Walking by Faith
• Understanding Righteousness
As I’m looking at the list, I thinking in my head “I have a lot of work to do.” But, that’s the best part about growing right? You put in the work, and the work you put in, God is going to see that and will reward you for your hard work. But you have to do the work, you have to show up, you have to be present, and stay consistent. I think that’s my word for 2021- Consistency. Also, Faith Church has been doing a series talking about the next five years, being filled with grace and favor. With consistency comes great things right?
I hope you all enjoyed this morning’s entry for “30 Days of Gratitude.” Are you struggling with these truths in your Christian walk? Do want to be more consistent in prayer? What are you thankful for today? Leave a comment down below and I’ll come back later with another blog. Enjoy your morning readers!
Until next time…
